Scheme is just the ticket
St Marnock's Bay, Portmarnock, Co Dublin
In Portmarnock - reputedly named after St Marnock, a contemporary of St Patrick who settled along the North Dublin coastline - history repeated itself last week when a dozen locals camped out in their cars for days outside the new St Marnock's Bay development to ensure they secured their choice of property - this also happened when the first tranche went on sale seven months ago.
The selling agent, which says it discourages queuing, gave the would-be buyers tickets so that they would have first priority to put down deposits when the showhouses open tomorrow.
Prices start at €460,000 for a three-bed and €525,000 for a four-bed, an increase of €10,000 since the initial phase.
The Ballymore-built scheme is located on Station Road with access the adjoining Dart station directly from the scheme itself. Journey-time to Dublin city centre takes less than half an hour.
The homes have bespoke kitchens - a Ballymore trademark - in a classical design, while the bedrooms have built-in wardrobes. An air-to-water heat pump system generates low-cost heating.
Viewings between 12pm and 3pm tomorrow and Sunday. Enquiries to: Savills (01) 9014252 or O'Farrell Cleere (01) 8453377.
