Retro fit-out works for former offices
Brook House, Dún Laoghaire, Co Dublin
A clever remodelling has transformed an old five-storey office block in the Victorian-era seaside suburb of Dún Laoghaire into an apartment development called Brook House.
The 22-unit complex sold out after it launched in November, so the selling agent is releasing the two show-apartments to the market.
The sale prices include the contents and flooring, as well as one underground parking space for each apartment.
No 4 Brook House is a two-bed-plus-study show apartment that extends over 1,012 sq ft and costs from €550,000. It was fitted out by the interior designers at the McGrath Group - the developer of the scheme - to lend it a retro ambience.
No 7 is a two-bed apartment measuring 936 sq ft and priced from €525,000. It has an entirely different layout to No 4: the sitting room is separate from the kitchen, which, in turn, has full-height glazed sliding doors that lead on to a balcony that's secluded from the rest of the development. The west-facing balconies at both the first-floor apartments overlook Corrig Avenue, the tree-lined avenue just off George's Street that's home to period properties.
Each apartment has a master ensuite, 9ft-high ceilings, and a custom-designed handle-free kitchen fitted with Carrera quartz countertops and upstands, Bosch appliances, and pull-out larder units. All the bedrooms come with custom-made fitted wardrobes, with feature mirrors to the wardrobes in the master bedroom.
The A-rated apartments are about 10km south-east of Dublin city and a five-minute walk from Dún Laoghaire Dart station.
Viewings are by appointment.
