Record prices for Steeplewoods
Steeplewoods, Carrigrohane, Cork
Steeplewoods, a development in Carrigrohane that's set between Ballincollig and the Model Farm Road in Cork, has notched up record prices for new four-bed detached homes in the well-heeled area, which is popular among buyers working for nearby employers such as University College Cork, the Cork Institute of Technology, the Bon Secours Hospital, and Boston Scientific.
Since the scheme of 26 detached and semi-detached four-bed homes was launched in September, buyers have spent up to €820,000 for the largest 2,885-sq ft four-bed detached style. Steeplewoods is being built by prolific Ballincollig-based developer O'Flynn Construction, which built Ballincollig Town Centre. The second phase of Steeplewoods, comprising six four-bed semis and four four-bed detached homes, was released last Saturday. Three from the tranche have already gone sale agreed and the selling agent expected further sales to have been achieved by today.
Paul Hannon, the director of Sherry FitzGerald's new homes division in Cork, says: "In the previous phase, the four-bed semi-detached homes were reserved on the launch date and we expect similar levels of interest in the last remaining semi-detached homes."
Each of the semi-detached styles extends over 1,438 sq ft and is priced from €435,000, while the detached types range in size from 1,840 sq ft to 2,472 sq ft and cost from €620,000.
All the traditional-style properties have a garden and patio to the rear and another garden and a cobbled parking area to the front. Inside, there is a fitted kitchen, a fireplace surround with a solid fuel stove, and ornate newels and balustrades to the staircase.
The central heating in the A-rated properties is provided by an air-to-water heat pump, and a mechanical air ventilation system generates a constant stream of fresh air.
Open viewings will take place tomorrow, from 2.30pm to 3.30pm. Enquiries to: Sherry FitzGerald (021) 427 3041
