Rathborne keeps candle lit for first-timers
Rathborne Park Ashtown, Dublin 15
Asking price: From €405,000
Agent: Savills (New Homes) 01 618 1300
The Ashtown development Rathborne Park, named after the family behind the centuries-old candle company, has proven popular with first-time buyers due to its location and transport links.
The scheme is beside Ashtown Train Station and is just across the Royal Canal from the Phoenix Park.
Castlethorn Construction built apartments and houses at Rathborne village before the property crash. The developer then returned to Dublin 15 in 2017 to build three and four-bed houses at Rathborne Park, which is right beside Ballymore's Royal Canal Park housing scheme.
Castlethorn is now wrapping up sales of the 150-unit scheme after releasing 18 houses there last weekend. Prices started at €405,000 for a three-bed mid-terraced home and at €420,000 for an end-of-terrace three-bed design.
The brick-fronted homes have a multi-point locking system to the front door and high-performance PVC to the double-glazed windows, while some of the styles have an integrated garage.
Buyers who sign contracts within 28 days will get appliances fitted to their kitchens, and there are fitted wardrobes to the double bedrooms. The A3-rated properties are equipped with gas-fired central heating, as well as roof-mounted PV panels. Dublin city centre is an 11-minute rail journey away.
The show-village at Rathborne Park will be closed this bank holiday weekend.
