Priced-out Dubliners flocking to the Hill in their drovesKirvin Hill, Rathnew, Co Wicklow
Kirvin Hill, a development in Rathnew village, some 3km outside Wicklow town, has been appealing to both first-time buyers priced out of the south Dublin housing market and to locals trading up from adjacent schemes.
The selling agent expects the trend to continue with the third and final phase launched last week at Kirvin Hill. The last phase consists of 42 three-bed semi-detached homes and six three-bed detached houses, though 10 units have already been booked.
Prices for the three-beds start at €275,000 for the semi-detached design and at €295,000 for the detached style, but purchasers of both types have the option to extend into the attic if they need extra space - planning permission allowing.
The houses come fully floored, with walnut laminate to the living room floor, polished porcelain tiles in the bathrooms, kitchen and utility, and oak laminate floors upstairs. There is also underfloor heating to the ground floor. Buyers have a choice of cream or white shaker units for the fitted kitchen.
Each of the A2-rated homes come with energy-saving features such as an air-to-water heat recovery system and rainwater harvesting.
An open viewing will be held at Kirvin Hill tomorrow, between 1pm-2.30pm.
