Carraig Beag, a new development in the Ballynerrin suburb of Wicklow town, appeals to commuters to Dublin who are priced out of north Wicklow towns such as Bray and Greystones.
In return for shifting their house-hunting farther down the Wicklow coast, buyers can get more bang for their buck: prices for the second phase of 19 homes that go on the market this weekend at Carraig Beag start at €315,000 for a two-bed bungalow, at €435,000 for a four-bed semi-detached style, at €475,000 for a four-bed detached design and at €515,000 for a five-bed detached version.
However, the three-bed semis and detached homes have sold out since Amazon Developments first launched Carraig Beag back in June.
The houses at the scheme, which commands views of the Irish Sea and the Wicklow Mountains, have front driveways paved in a similar red tone to the Ibstock brick that - combined with dry dash - was used to finish each façade. The timber front door is in a sage green, and there are high-performance double-glazed windows throughout. There is a paved patio and a garden to the rear.
Inside, Fitzgerald Kitchens supplied the hand-crafted, shaker-style kitchen units, which were hand-painted in colours from Farrow & Ball and the Paint & Paper Library. The company also supplied the walk-in wardrobes for the master bedrooms.
Viewings will take place at Carraig Beag from 12pm to 2pm tomorrow and Sunday.
