Foxrock sea views to lure affluent buyers
Westminster Wood Foxrock, Dublin 18
Asking price: From €440,000
Agent: DNG New Homes (01) 491 2600
The tall three-storey houses at Westminster Wood, a new development in the affluent south Dublin village of Foxrock, were designed to maximise sea views - the master bedroom on the top floor opens onto a glazed front terrace.
The contemporary-style south-west facing houses were designed by Ferreira Architects for Francis Rhatigan's Winterbrook. The low-density scheme, situated close to Foxrock Church, consists of 23 homes set on a leafy landscaped 1.7-acre site.
Two showhouses and a marketing suite will open for the first time tomorrow with prices starting at €440,000 for a one-bed apartment with a study and at €550,000 for a two-bed own-door ground-floor apartment. The three-bed duplexes, which can also be used as a two-bed with a study, are priced from €615,000, while the four-bed houses, which also have a study, cost from €875,000.
The front exterior of the houses is finished in buff-coloured brick and zinc cladding, and there are triple-glazed alu-clad windows from Rationel throughout. Unusually, all the apartments are located on the ground floor, so they have garden spaces that are accessed via glass sliding doors from the kitchen/diner. The duplex units on the first and second floors have two private terraces, one leading out from the kitchen/dining area and one opening out from the top-floor master bedroom.
The homes were designed to achieve either an A2 or A3 BER and are equipped with an air-to-water heat pump that provides underfloor heating that can be controlled remotely. Westminister Wood is situated just off the N11 road and its bus corridor.
Viewings will take place tomorrow and Sunday, from 2pm to 4pm.
