Four-beds on the green in Douglas
Hazel Hill, Douglas, Co Cork
Like Blackrock, the middle-class suburb of Douglas is a destination of choice for Cork's aspirational professionals. And it doesn't get more middle-class than Hazel Hill, a new development being built beside Douglas Golf Club on Maryborough Hill.
There are 20 four-bed detached homes overlooking a central landscaped green space. The first homes released at the Nama-funded addition to the existing Maryborough Ridge scheme sold within a few days of being launched off the plans in March. Further releases followed and there are now only three properties available at Hazel Hill, each selling for €500,000. Construction on the development will wrap up early next year.
These architecturally designed, A3-rated homes have 1,722 sq ft of accommodation laid out over two storeys, with a living room to the front of the ground floor and a kitchen-diner with a lounge space to the back. There is a contemporary canopy above the front entrance door, itself surrounded by cedar timber cladding, and a balcony off the master bedroom on the first floor. To the rear of each house is a grass lawn and paved patio.
PC allowances at Hazel Hill include €10,000 for kitchen units and a utility, €4,000 towards fitted wardrobes, and €2,000 for an integrated wood-burning stove and fireplace surround.
Viewings at the development will be held tomorrow, from 2.30pm to 3.30pm, and between 12pm and 2pm next Saturday. Viewings can also be arranged by appointment. Enquiries to: Savills (021) 4271371
