Former rentals open the doors to city bases

Canon Hall, Docklands, Dublin 1

The cost of building a two-bed apartment in Dublin far exceeds the price such a unit would fetch, according to last month's report from the Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland, so it's no surprise that the apartments at Canon Hall in the north Docklands date back to 2008.

The apartments were rented out during the ensuing property downturn. But earlier this year, amid the market recovery in the booming hotspot of the Docklands, the first tranche of apartments at Canon Hall were finally put up for sale. A second phase followed in September, and there are still four of those on the market. One is a two-bed selling for €280,000, while three are one-bed apartments with starting prices ranging from €240,000 to €250,000.

The 11-storey building is located on Church Street East, directly opposite the Spencer Place development and 250m from the new Central Bank headquarters. The apartments come with a balcony, a contemporary-style fitted kitchen, tiled bathrooms, bespoke fitted wardrobes in the bedrooms. and hardwood flooring throughout.

There is a designated parking space for each apartment in the secure underground car park.

The Luas at Spencer Dock is 200m away, while the Docklands Train Station is 300m. Apartments are on view every Thursday, from 12pm to 1pm.
