The Willows in Dunshaughlin was designed to appeal to families priced out of the capital, some 34km away: the development is brimming with on-site facilities for children, with plans afoot for more amenities, and the potential to extend the homes when there's a new addition to the family.
The scheme of 200 houses off the village's Old Dublin Road was first released in 2017 and a new playground has since been added. Gem Group, the developer, plans to build a neighbourhood centre, including a primary healthcare unit, a gym, a retail unit and childcare facilities, and recently sold land adjoining The Willows to the Department of Education for a new primary school.
The developer has also linked up with Meath County Council to plan playing pitches for the Dunshaughlin Youths Soccer Club on land to the east of The Willows.
Last weekend, the developer opened a new three-bed showhouse to coincide with the release of a new phase of 25 houses. The new design enables buyers to convert the attic in future to add more living or sleeping accommodation.
Prices in the current tranche start at €305,000 for a three-bed spanning 1,209 sq ft, at €370,000 for a 1,658-sq ft four-bed, and at €470,000 for a five-bed detached house measuring 1,818 sq ft.
Designed by McCrossan O'Rourke Manning, the properties have traditional brick façades with reconstituted sandstone to the windowsills. BeSpace supplied the fitted kitchen and bedroom wardrobes. The A3-rated homes are heated via a gas-condensing boiler, while PV panels generate electricity.
For commuters, the M3 motorway has significantly reduced travel times into Dublin city centre, while the park-and-ride facility at Dunboyne, 9km from Dunshaughlin, provides rail access to the city centre.
Viewings of the showhouses at The Willows will take place from 2.30pm to 4pm tomorrow and Sunday.
