The grounds of Maria Villa, an 18th-century classical-style country manor in Maynooth, will become home to one of the largest residential developments earmarked for the Co Kildare college town this year.

Mariavilla, the Cairn Homes scheme named after the eponymous period residence, launches tomorrow, with the off-plan release of the first 20 of 320 houses planned for the development. Many of the houses in the scheme will face the original Georgian manor.

The stock market-listed builder also has planning permission for 142 apartments at Mariavilla, as well as student accommodation, a creche, a cafe, a gym and a retail unit.

The initial release at Mariavilla will comprise three and four-bed houses.

The two-storey, three-beds measure 1,238 sq ft and are priced from €365,000, while the four-bed semi-detached houses, which have 1,840 sq ft of space across three floors, cost from €480,000.

Prospective buyers who commute to Dublin can reach Connolly Station in 45 minutes from Maynooth train station or access the M50 from the M4 motorway.

The marketing suite at Mariavilla, which is located off the Dunboyne Road, will be open from 2.30pm to 4pm tomorrow and Sunday.
