A Cross from the court with A-rating will net some interest

Castleknock Cross is aptly named - the west Dublin development is situated on the corner of Beechpark Avenue and the old Navan Road, about a 10-minute walk from Castleknock village.

Should prospective buyers at the development feel like hitting a cross-court shot, they won't have far to go: the high-end scheme is just across the road from the 90-year-old Castleknock Lawn Tennis Club.

The development, launched a year ago, is made up of 33 semi-detached, terraced and detached three-storey homes.

The scheme is now being wrapped up, with the release this weekend of the final four five-bed semi-detached houses.

Each of these semi-ds has between 2,310 sq ft and 2,330 sq ft of living space extending over three floors and is priced from €820,000. The homes have a box bay window off the front living room and a small front balcony off the second-floor bedroom. The kitchen/diner/lounge, which overlooks the rear patio and garden, is flooded with natural light thanks to a window to the side of the house, patio doors and skylights. The master ensuite, along with two other bedrooms and a family bathroom, are located on the first floor. The top floor is home to another ensuite, a storage room, and a fifth bedroom that could be used as a study or multi-media room.

Built by Cleary Doyle for local fund Fontwood Investments, the houses at Castleknock Cross are fitted with custom-designed kitchen units from Arena Kitchens, built-in appliances and stone worktops. There are fitted wardrobes in the bedrooms, while the bathrooms and ensuites have Villeroy & Boch sanitary ware.

The homes were designed to reach a BER of between A3 and A2, and are equipped with triple-glazed windows, a mechanical ventilation and heat recovery system, solar panels and a Kingspan rainwater harvesting system.

Viewings at Castleknock Cross will be held tomorrow, between 11:30am and 12:30pm, or by appointment.
