'Colour this year is one of the most exciting years that we've had' - Leading interior designer Jo Hamilton at House 2017
Leading designer Jo Hamilton has said 2017 is one of the most thrilling years she's ever experienced when it comes to the use of colour in interiors.
The London-based high-end designer is speaking at INM event House 2017 throughout the weekend and said being bold with colour is a great way to make interior design relevant and exciting.
"Colour is one of the corner stones of interior design. It's important to really pay attention to colour and to figure out new ways of using it. It's a great way of keeping on trend, and making interior design relevant. There's so much going on this year," she said.
"Colour this year is one of the most exciting years that we've had in a while. Each year there is often one colour trend up this year it's anything goes. There's so much going on. We've got colour, patterns, marbles and all sorts of different textures and materials. It's a really exciting year for colour."
The designer, who jetted into Dublin from an event in Dubai, said interior shows such as House 2017 "keep her on her toes" as a designer.
"I'm really looking forward to being here this weekend and bringing my 23 years of experience to the designers and homeowners of Dublin.
"I love coming to event like this because as a designer I find it really inspiring. It keeps me on the edge and on my toes. It's really important to know what's going on out there and use those in my own designs and stay on top of the trends and of what's going on. It's really important and really exciting and House 2017 has so much to offer across the board."
Jo Hamilton will take to the Inspiration Stage at House 2017 on Saturday from 3PM - 4PM, and on Sunday 12:30PM - 1:30PM and 3:30PM- 4:30PM
