Baldwinstown Castle, Bridgetown, Co Wexford

Castle and period home on 18 acres

Baldwinstown House and Castle stands on 18 acres of parkland and gardens near Bridgetown, Wexford.

One of the oldest Norman keeps in Ireland, the castle was built in 1195.

The Stafford family later built a house next to the castle in the early 1700's, adding a Georgian front in 1810.

The ground floor of Castle House opens with an entrance hallway, leading to the sitting room, drawing room and dining room. The dining room is a bow-fronted room and leads to the conservatory next door. Double French doors lead from there to the gardens.

The large kitchen is a modern country kitchen, featuring integrated appliances and a Belfast sink, as well as a centre island and a pantry.

There are six bedrooms in all, as well as the family bathroom, which features a sauna and a freestanding cast iron enamel bath.

The master bedroom is a large bow-fronted room to the rear of the house. The suite includes a dressing area with fitted wardrobes and an en suite bathroom.

It also comes with a one-bedroom apartment, an American barn and other outbuildings.
