Watch the birdies at Strand Road in Portmarnock
It may take its name from the Sligo estate that has been the subject of a protracted, multimillion-euro legal battle, but Number 2 Lissadell House in Portmarnock is unlikely to land its owner in any quarrels about rights of way.
The property, located at Strand Road in Portmarnock, is secured behind a pillared entrance complete with cast iron electric gates. Trespassing is not a real possibility.
Mind you, the occupant should probably beware of flying golf balls, and embarrassed golfers searching for same. The 150-foot rear garden backs onto the first fairway of the Championship Portmarnock Links designed by Bernhard Langer.

The master bedroom also has double doors to a balcony, from which you can either watch the golf or look over it to Howth Head, Ireland's Eye and the Irish Sea. Above that level are three attic rooms with skylights for whatever purpose takes your fancy. Including these rooms takes the overall dimensions up to 3,658 square feet. The 150-foot garden is in two parts. Next to the house is a a paved patio with shrubs, and beyond that is a lawned area where the stray golf balls might land.
Portmarnock train station is about two kilometres away, and the Number 32 bus to Lower Abbey Street stops nearby. The beach, meanwhile, is about five minutes' walk from the house.
