Tight squeeze! Is this cottage the smallest in Ireland?
Fans of home improvement shows will know just how important it is to make clever use of space, but even Dermot Bannon might struggle with this teeny-tiny home in Cork City, which measures just 2.4m wide.
The property on Vicar Street in the city could be the narrowest in the country, and measures just 25.2 square metres in total.
The cottage is made up of just three rooms, a bedroom, a living and kitchen space and a bathroom at the rear of the home.
The compact property is in need of a complete renovation, and is perhaps suitable for someone looking for ‘little’ project.
The narrow home has been placed on the market by Sherry Fitzgerald for €60,000, and auctioneers said that what No. 24 lacks in size, it makes up for in location.
“This narrow site offers huge potential to some- one with vision and imagination.
"The location, behind St Finbarr’s Cathedral, is very central and has all essential amenities in close proximity, namely, schools, shops, bars and restaurants."
