Think you can't get on property ladder? How about this three-bed for €35,000?
TALK about a bargain - a three-bedroom house in Donegal is listed to go under the hammer for €35,000.
The semi-detached property at Ard Caoin, Manorcunningham, is ten minutes' drive from Letterkenny and 25 minutes' journey from Derry.
The house is to be sold at public auction next month, with a reserve price of €35,000 - the amount some would fork out for a new car.
It will go up for sale at 1pm in The Leopardstown Pavilion, Dublin 18, on March 2.
At a time of massive housing shortages on both sides of the border, the Donegal semi-detached house has been described as "real value".
It has certainly been getting plenty of interest.
"It has most definitely generated a lot of inquiries since the property came to the market last week," said Kiara Rainey, of Sherry FitzGerald Rainey.
"The auction price represents real value at a time when, nationally, house prices are on the rise again," she commented.
Ms Rainey added: "There is some cracking on the external walls of the property and we are advising all intending purchasers to make their own structural and financial investigations prior to making contact with our office."
According to the property listing, the house overlooks a large green area with views of Lough Swilly.
It features a large kitchen and dining room area as well as a master bedroom.
"Ard Caoin is close to a range of local amenities including convenience store, post office, resource centre, two pubs and a national school, while Letterkenny town itself is around ten minutes' drive," according to the estate agent.
The property is available for viewings today at 2:15pm, Saturday, February 18 at 11:30am and Wednesday, February 22 at 2:15pm.
