Off-the-plans at Ballinteer

Selling off-plan has once again become part of the market in South County Dublin so it will be no surprise if the proposed development of five houses at Ludford Grove in Ballinteer sells before its planned summer opening.

Located just off the Old Ballinteer Road and parallel to Wyckham Way, the development will have five homes in total. Access to the M50 is at the Dundrum interchange and Dundrum town centre is 1.5km away. It's a few minutes' walk to Ballawley Park.

Built by Twinlite Developments, the four- bedroom semis will range from 1,785-1,862 sq ft and there is one detached house also going up. They will be A3 rated ,but as of yet, exact layout and prices are to be decided.

Twinlite completed the largest residential project in the country at Tyrrelstown with 2,119 homes constructed there over the last 12 years.

15 homes on the Shannon for €650k

Location: Prior's Point, Carrick- on-Shannon

Those looking for an investment at a price which will buy not one, but fifteen homes should seek out Prior's Point, a development being sold by receiver Grant Thornton, for €650,000 in one lot.

Carrick is the largest town in Co Leitrim and has 750km of cruising river available, situated as it is on the Shannon-Erne Waterway to the north and the River Shannon southwards.

There are three different house types on offer: Six of 'The Admiral', a four-bedroom detached house over three floors at 2,045 sq ft; some are yet to be completed.

'The Lookout' is 1,808 sq ft and six of the seven units need completion. They are also four-bedroom over two storeys.

Two still remaining in the Wood

Leinster Wood at Carton proved a popular location for Celtic families acquiring homes in the Celtic Tiger years spurred by the glamorous aspect of living near the seat of the Dukes of Leinster, Carton Hotel & Spa, not to mention getting a peek at various rugby and football teams training.

Still on sale are two house types, jointly brought to market by REA Coonan and Flynn Associates. "The Duke' is a 2,771 sq ft four-bedroom home with the master bedroom on the ground floor.

The village of Stradbally is a five minute walk.
