Smart home which saves on energy and price
Where: Cloosh, Kinvara, Co. Galway
Details: Six-bedroom dormer on an acre
When planning his Cloosh house, Peter Walshe felt that the attractive location deserved a top-class smart home specification so he invested over €1m in it with help from the bank.
When he had it completed he was so pleased with his achievement that he felt it was worth €1.5m. However, the market changed and now he has reduced the asking price to €849,000.
"I commissioned La Maison Chic interior designs and the house is so eco-friendly that it's achieved an A2 BER certificate and it has as many as 13 broadband points and 21 phone points," he explains.
Extending to almost 3,000sqft, its has six bedrooms, three at ground level and three upstairs with two en suites at each level.
The spacious lounge with views of the Burren leads to the bright sunroom which has a vaulted ceiling and both are wired for surround sound.
Double doors connect the sunroom to the dining room which in turn leads, via an archway, to the kitchen which also has a vaulted ceiling.
The kitchen units have solid wood doors and are set off with black granite worktops and integrated with Neff appliances. The main bathroom is also located on the ground floor and residents can enjoy its double massage bath and its integrated TV systems.
A utility room with a toilet off is also located at this level. A range of appliances, furniture and décor fittings are included in the price as well as a ride-on lawnmower.
Cloosh is about four miles from Kinvara and even nearer to Tracht beach, a local shop and The Travellers Inn.
