Sea views from The Lookout
The Lookout, Glandore, West Cork
Five-bedroom home designed to enjoy sea views
Perched high above Glandore Harbour, The Lookout is designed to allow residents to enjoy the prettiest seascapes on Ireland's coasts. Each room has a bird's-eye view of the scenery.
Built in 2008, its owners commissioned the high specification fixtures and fittings to enjoy all the conveniences of modern living in a comfortable family atmosphere. Floor-to-ceiling windows flood the house with natural light and doors offer easy access out to the spacious deck area or upstairs balconies.
During the summer days, doors can be thrown open to bring outside in, while on winter days the scenery can be enjoyed from the warmth and comfort of its B2 energy rating.
Accommodation extends to 455sqm (4,900 sq ft) including a downstairs where a large entrance hall can be warmed by an open fire. Both the drawing room and dining room have solid wood floors and large picture windows. Also located downstairs is a study/office, utility room and guest WC.
Upstairs there are five bedrooms and a sitting room. All bedrooms are en suite, while the master comes with a walk-in dressing room and Jacuzzi bath.
To the front of the property there is a large decking area which faces south, ideal for summer entertaining or simply relaxing and enjoying the view.
West Cork is famous for its breathtaking scenery, in particular the rugged beauty of its peninsulas, white sandy beaches and coves found along the coastline.
Only 200 metres from Glandore, a pretty Riviera style village, The Lookout affords a view of Glandore Harbour. Glandore's position in the path of the Gulf Stream ensures a milder climate than the rest of Ireland even in winter.
The village has been a sought after location for some of the most attractive coastal properties in Ireland.
Across the bay is the colourful fishing village of Unionhall, home to great pubs and restaurants. Clonakilty is about 20km away and Skibbereen 13km.
