Prayers answered as families get more bang for their buck
Churchfields, Ashbourne, Co Meath
A new phase is coming on stream at Churchfields, a development beside the town centre in Ashbourne that's pitched at first-time buyers and expanding families seeking more bang for their buck in the greater Dublin commuter belt.
The scheme, just 20km north of the centre of Dublin, is being developed by the stock exchange-listed Cairn Homes and will have 300 three, four and five-bed family homes in a slew of styles by the time it's complete.
The latest batch, comprising 50 family houses, is being released this weekend.
Prices start at €290,000 for a 1,210-sq ft three-bed terraced house and at €315,000 for a semi-detached three-bed measuring 1,259 sq ft. The four-bed, 1,463-sq ft semi-detached house type costs from €355,000, while a three-storey version with 1,880 sq ft of space is priced from €380,000. The five-bed style, which measures 2,238 sq ft, is selling for €475,000.
Features included as standard in the price are contemporary-style kitchens with high-gloss doors, 9ft ceiling-to-floor heights throughout the ground floor, fitted bedroom wardrobes, and Spanish porcelain tiling to the floors and wet areas of the bathrooms, guest WC and ensuites. The facades are finished in Ibstock brick, with natural limestone to the window surrounds and sills.
Each home at Churchfields has an A3 BER, courtesy of features such as roof-mounted PV panels, a high-efficiency gas-fired boiler, and a demand control ventilation system that ensures an automatic supply of fresh air without letting heat escape.
Ashbourne is close to the junction of the N2 and M2 motorway, providing a direct link to the M50.
The showhouses at Churchfields will be open tomorrow and Sunday, from 2:30pm to 4pm.
