Prayer answered in Mt Merrion
22 Greygates €950k
The South Hill Evangelical Church in the Dublin suburb of Mount Merrion podcasts its sermons, leaving no stone unturned when it comes to spreading the faith among the technologically literate, at least.
If you're not technologically literate, or indeed if you prefer hearing the Good News in person, you can pop along to the church for Sunday morning services or Wednesday evening prayer meetings.
This will be even easier if your home is at 22 Greygates, which is just across the Stillorgan Road from the church, although you should be careful crossing the thoroughfare - while faith may move mountains, its effectiveness in stopping the traffic on a dual carriageway has not been satisfactorily established.
The church has been at its South Hill Park address since the 1950s, which means it arrived some decades after Number 22 Greygates. That was constructed in the 1930s by the celebrated builder, John Kenny.
The house has some lovely 1930s features such as its double-height bow window, stained glass and ceiling coving. It's in good condition but will benefit from a bit of modernisation, and there's a great west-facing back garden with it.
Inside the arched and glazed front door is a chequerboard-tiled porch leading into an L-shaped entrance hall. To the left there's a dining room with a bow window and a living room with a door to the garden. To the right is a family room, and the kitchen is at the back.
The first floor has four bedrooms, a bathroom and separate toilet, giving a total floor area of 1,711 sq ft.
You can park on the front driveway, while the back garden has a lawn and hedging, flower beds and a patio, and there's also a garden shed and outside toilet.
The agent is Hunters, (01) 289 7840, and the asking price is €950,000.
