Say ‘I do’ to church view

HOUSEHUNTERS who like a good wedding will enjoy 40 Crawford Avenue, across the road from St Columba's Church in Glasnevin, Dublin 9.

Number 40 is a five-bedroom terraced house with 1,927sq ft of floor space over two storeys and a converted attic. Somewhat unusually, the kitchen is at the front, with a bow window overlooking the garden. Beyond that is a lounge with a fireplace, connected to a family room with patio doors to the back garden.

Upstairs are three bedrooms, including the ensuite master bedroom along with a small study and the main bathroom. At attic level are two bedrooms that share an ensuite. Patio doors from the dining room open on to the paved garden at the back, and from there you can access a shared residents garden.

A seven-minute walk from Drumcondra station, it's on the market for €735,000 with Gunne (01 833 5844).

I love newer York

'MODERN' is perhaps not the right word for the row of redbrick houses at the north-eastern end of York Road in Rathmines. They are, however, up to date compared with their elegant, bay-windowed Edwardian and Victorian redbrick neighbours.

Number 54 York Road is an end-of-terrace house of 1,045sq ft, accommodating the basic three bedrooms and two reception rooms.

On the ground floor there's a sitting room, a dining room and a kitchen, while the three bedrooms and bathroom are on the first floor.

There's no room to park on the front driveway. There is, however, a 30ft back garden providing vehicular access through a garage to a lane behind the houses. There's also a shed in the garden.

Beechwood Luas stop is just under a kilometre away, or you can reach St Stephen's Green in about half an hour on foot. Number 54 is for sale for €495,000 with Gunne estate agents in Ranelagh (01 499 5050).

ELM Park in Donnybrook is only about 100 metres from Elm Park Golf & Sports Club and No6 is a 2,281sq ft detached house, albeit as a modern developer understands the term — which means it’s very close to its neighbour.

Accommodation consists of a living room, open-plan kitchen and dining room, utility room and guest toilet, as well as a converted garage for use as a bedroom or study.

Four bedrooms and the main bathroom are upstairs. The master bedroom has a full ensuite bathroom with a sauna. There’s also an attic room above.

There’s off-street parking in the front driveway. The west-facing back garden features a patio and a lawn, with a pond in the centre. The agent is Savills (01 663 4300) and the price is €1.25m
