New housing units selling out
SIGNS of the pick-up in the housing market were reflected in the latest sales news from two developments, one in Dublin and the other in Waterford, which had been in the hands of receivers.
In Saggart, Co Dublin only one of 47 units at Saggart Lodge Court, which were relaunched on the market a few months ago, remains to be sold.
In March this year Saggart Lodge Court 2013 SPV purchased 18 townhouses and 29 apartments at the estate from receiver Martin Ferris. The purchaser then relaunched them on the market at prices which were about 65pc below their 2008 prices.
These include the four-bed townhouses, pictured above, which were reduced from their €1m peak prices to €350,000. Two-bedroom apartments were sold off by the agents, City Properties, for €150,000.
Located opposite The Citywest Hotel and Leisure Centre, overlooking the 18 hole championship golf course at Citywest, the remaining four bedroom terraced house is a sizeable 235sqm.
Meanwhile last Friday in Waterford, 10 semi-detached houses were sold off within two hours of their release by receiver Simon Coyle of Mazars.
Located at Meadowbank, Ballinaneeshagh, these three bedroom houses are in varying states of finish and their prices started at €65,000. Selling agents Sherry FitzGerald John Rohan reports that deposits were paid on the day and contracts have been signed on all 10 houses.
