Lower heating bills for Meath commuters
Demesne, Ashbourne, Co Meath
Asking price: From €365,000
Agent: REA Grimes New Homes, (01) 8350392
The commuter belt of Ashbourne has witnessed a revival in popularity among developers targeting would-be purchasers priced out of Co Dublin, especially among Lotara Developments, which is building Wafre Lodge and Archerstown Demesne.
Lotara, part of Mullen Developments, has added a series of phases since Archerstown Demesne first launched in 2014. A new section called The Elms was released last year, and a fresh tranche of 12 three-bed semi-detached homes came on stream earlier this month.
Three of those 1,258-sq ft properties are still available. Two cost from €365,000 and the third, which has a slightly bigger garden, is priced from €367,500.
Inside each Terry O'Flanagan Architects-designed house, there is a contemporary-style fitted kitchen. The bedrooms have fitted wardrobes, and the bathrooms and en suites are tiled.
The houses are A3-rated, so heating costs will be substantially lower for buyers moving from older homes.
Viewings of the showhouse continue this weekend, between 2pm and 3.30pm tomorrow and Sunday.
