AS well as being the name of a sheltered cove in North county Dublin, Loughshinny Bay is also the address of a small development of some 18 detached houses just outside Loughshinny village.
It's about a kilometre from there to Loughshinny beach, but sadly there's a bathing restriction in force on the beach for the whole of the 2017 season, according to the EPA, because of poor water quality.
The beach and accompanying harbour still make for a pleasant amenity for the residents of Loughshinny though, with views across to the Martello Tower on Drumanagh Head.
And if you're intent on more vigorous exercise than a ramble down to the harbour, you could make use of the home gym at Number 11 Loughshinny Bay.
The gym is in a detached block-built building on the grounds and measures some 175 sq ft, so it's big enough for most of the popular exercise equipment.
Alternatively you could turn the gym building into a home office or studio instead.
The house itself looks dainty from the outside but is actually 1,938 sq ft. That includes three bedrooms, two of them with en-suite showers, and one - the master bedroom - with a floor-to-ceiling corner window and double doors to the garden.
By way of reception rooms there's a sitting room with a vaulted ceiling and a bow window at the front of the house, as well as an open-plan kitchen, dining room and living room, with a wood-burning stove and two sets of French doors giving onto the back garden.
Loughshinny is roughly equidistant between Skerries to the North and Rush to the south, and it's less than half an hour's drive from here to Dublin airport.
The agent is REA Grimes, (01) 849 0129, and the asking price is €545,000.
