Kildare development land for auction
Two parcels of development land on the northern and southern edges of Kildare town will be auctioned on July 5 with a combined value of around €650,000.
One lot at Ruanbeg on the Dublin side of the town extends to 30 acres and has full planning permission for 204 dwellings, mainly three bedroom semis. There is also permission for a small neighbourhood centre of 1,257 sqm including a childcare facility, a convenience store, a single storey retail store and a cafe/bar/licensed premises and off-licence. Jordan Auctioneers are guiding €450,000 for the lot -- planning permission has three years to run.
The second lot of 7.2 acres at Loughlion, near the Kildare Village Outlet centre on the Monasterevin side of the town has full planning permission for 75 terraced and detached houses including two and three-bedroom units. Its guide price is €200,000 and its planning permission has been extended until 2017.
Paddy Jordan says a developer might seek planning permission to develop semis on the Loughlion site as these house types are experiencing some demand.
