Joan Rivers’ penthouse apartment on the market in NYC for €24.7m
The luxury apartment owned by the late comedienne Joan Rivers is on the market in New York for €24.7m ($28m).
Rivers who passed away in 2014 had owned the apartment on the Upper East Side for over 25 years.
The 11 bedroom property has been on and off the market since 2009 but was put up for sale by Rivers’ daughter Melissa following her mother’s death in September.
The penthouse is very elaborately decorated with large fireplaces and gleaming chandeliers throughout the apartment and many walls and ceilings are decorated with gold leaf.
The home boasts a ballroom with 23 foot ceilings, a music room and a personal elevator.
A terrace with views of the city also is on offer to the apartment’s future occupants.
The comedienne died in September following complications that arose during minor surgery in a Manhattan clinic.
Rivers’ left her €132m fortune to her daughter Melissa who is suing Yorkville Endoscopy for "medical mismanagement and incompetency" following her mother’s death.
