The Market:

This county is displaying all the signs of a market bumping along the bottom with some more recent signs of stability. Properties are moving more quickly and in larger volumes than at this time last year. Supply of family homes is tight with healthy demand in four-bedroom detached houses or good-sized semis. So far though prices have not been impacted.

More than 50% of sales are for cash and the banks appear to be lending again albeit reluctantly and with extreme caution. Investors remain a somewhat distant memory while

Waterford city's property market has been impacted by unemployment and the demise of labour-intensive industries and of key retailers such as A-Wear towards the end of 2013.

Waterford is one of the few counties where rural properties often fetch more than their urban counterparts. Dunmore East and Tramore, for example, tend to be more expensive and continue to maintain their cache.
