Inside the €1.4m Docklands luxury penthouse with a designer rooftop garden
A luxury penthouse apartment, complete with its own rooftop garden, is enticing would-be homeowners with a pretty penny to spare.
The Penthouse at Forbes Quay is creating quite a buzz in Dublin's upscale Grand Canal Dock.
The two-bedroom luxury penthouse commands an asking price of €1.4 million but it offers something that most city-side apartments can't: a lavish rooftop garden.
The 200sq metre urban oasis was designed by Chelsea Flower Show gold-medal winner Mary Reynolds, one of the most talked-about contemporary landscape gardeners. She counts Prince Charles as a friend and is the subject of the 2016 movie, Dare to be Wild - a biopic on West Cork designer's unconventional journey to success.
Reynolds brought a touch of bespoke wilderness to this city dwelling with bamboo and olive trees, as well as a colourful meadow garden. The secluded terraces also offer panoramic views of the city that stretch out over Grand Canal Dock and Basin, all the way across to the Dublin Mountains.
The 140sq metre property includes two double-bedrooms (the master is fitted with a walk-in wardrobe and an en-suite bathroom), a guest bathroom, an open-plan living-dining-kitchen area, a private elevator, underground parking space and an energy efficient heating system.
The Penthouse at Forbes Quay has been listed by Owen Reilly for private viewings.
