It seems home is really where the heart is as visitors to INM interiors event House 2017 revealed that they would stay in Ireland and build their dream home if they won the lottery.

Day-dreaming about a massive jackpot win, visitors to the event revealed that they would purchase a seaside home in Ireland, rather than a plush mansion abroad.

Mary from Malahide said she would stay by the sea, but might consider buying a holiday home in Los Angeles, should she be so lucky to come into money.

"I think I'd like to stay in Malahide. I do like my own house so I'd probably do a lot of work in my own house to make it better. If I won the lotto I'd love to have a second house in Santa Barbara. I would call it the Malahide of LA and I'd like it to overlook the ocean and that would be the best worlds."

Another visitor to the event revealed that her dream home would be in the Irish countryside.

"It would be really old stone, bungalow style cottage, really old wooden windows and a big open fireplace and a big open kitchen. And a little thatch roof would be cool!"

Describing their dream neighbour, one visitor said the best kind is one you don't see very often.

"The dream neighbour is the one you see once a week, you say hello to but you don't have any interaction with after that. I'm very happy to be friendly but not too much interaction."

Another said: "I don't really want neighbours but if I'm living in Dalkey, I suppose I will have to have them. My mother-in-law is my dream neighbour!"
