If you act fast, you might be in possession of this log cabin in time for the Cowboys and Heroes Festival in June. It's an annual celebration of Country Music and Americana that takes place at Drumcoura City in Ballinamore - a 50-acre Western-themed ranch with saloons and horse-riding - and it's now in its fifth year. As well as cowboy high jinks, there are other amusements at Drumcoura too, including boating, fishing and tennis. Number 5 is a three-bedroom holiday home with lake views. The bedrooms are downstairs and there's a loft space too for prairie-style sleeping. Also downstairs are a kitchen and separate living room, in a floor area of 1,615 sq ft.

Although it's a picture-perfect holiday cottage, there's no reason why Barley Cottage in Scarriff wouldn't afford someone a permanent home near the shores of Louth Derg. It was built in the 19th century and renovated and extended in the past decade, keeping the original features such as beamed ceilings, exposed stone and a half-door. It's now 1,387 sq ft with three bedrooms on the ground floor and a fourth under a low ceiling in the attic. Number 4, known as Robin's Nest, has been upgraded by its current owners, adding a power shower and a new kitchen. It measures 1,500 sq ft and has an L-shaped kitchen and living room with a double-height ceiling, a fireplace and harbour views. This gives on to a conservatory with doors to the garden. There are two ground-floor bedrooms (one en-suite). The main en-suite bedroom is upstairs, where there's also a mezzanine sleeping area by way of a fourth bedroom.
