No130 Drumnigh Wood is not much more than 100 metres from Portmarnock Station as the crow flies, although if for some reason you wanted to take the car over there, you'd have to drive for over a kilometre. No130 is a detached house in first-rate condition with a paved front garden and a rather busy back garden with two patios, a lawn, barbecue and glasshouse. Inside it's 1,884 sq ft with two main living areas downstairs - living room and open-plan kitchen and dining room - as well as a sunroom. The four bedrooms are all upstairs, the main one with an en suite shower.

70 Church Street

Church Street, formerly known as Chapel Street, is one of the two main streets of Skerries, so No70 is very much in the heart of town life there. For seclusion, though, it has a pleasant paved back garden facing south-west, with a greenhouse and a pedestrian exit. A single-storey skylit sunroom gives onto the garden, and the ground floor also has two other reception rooms and a study, as well as the kitchen. One of these ground-floor reception rooms can be used as a bedroom; otherwise there are three bedrooms upstairs, along with a bathroom.

Bahala na, South Shore Road, Rush

In the Tagalog language, 'Bahala Na' is a phrase that can be translated as 'whatever happens happens' - sort of like the Filipino version of 'Que Sera Sera'. It's also the name of this architect-designed house facing south towards the beach at Rush, where the views from the first-floor terrace would tend to make you philosophical. The terrace is reached from two of the three en suite bedrooms upstairs and from the sitting room also on this level. The fourth en suite bedroom is on the ground floor along with two more reception rooms, in a total floor area of 3,078 sq ft.

21 Seamount Abbey

According to the Property Price Register, 21 Seamount Abbey sold as a new house for €830,000 in 2012 - a historically low point for property prices. A rising market has now added €420,000 to its value. No21 is still in very good condition and, as a recent build, has a B2 energy rating. It's on a corner site and measures 3,000 sq ft, with the four bedrooms all en-suite on the first floor. The main reception room downstairs is a lounge and dining room running the length of the house. That leads into the kitchen which has a sun room off it, and there's also a separate TV room.
