2 Abington, Swords Rd, Malahide

€2.4m  Fox & Gallagher (096) 70900

Among the erstwhile residents of Abington, Malahide are David Drumm and Ronan Keating. Number 2 is associated with Christina Gallagher, founder of the controversial House of Prayer on Achill Island. It's been on the market for some time and the price has been cut from €2.6m to €2.4m. Inside, there's a massive 8,000 sq ft of space, with a lounge, sitting room, dining room, office, sunroom and kitchen, as well as five bedrooms, and an unused second floor. It's on 1.4 acres with a landscaped garden and a three-car garage.

Retford House, Hampton Street

 €475k  Sherry FitzGerald Blanc (01) 890 0944

Built in the early 20th century (it's on the 1906 Ordnance Survey map), Retford House is a large redbrick in the centre of Balbriggan, with many period features such as marble fireplaces, high ceilings and an Aga. The ground floor has a dining room, sitting room, family room and sunroom, as well as an eat-in kitchen and conservatory. The five bedrooms and a study are upstairs. Total internal floor area is 2,863 sq ft, while outside the grounds include a tennis court, garden, courtyard and car port with parking.

Cúl Árd, Balcultry, Swords

 €650k  Savills Country (01) 663 4350

Cúl Árd is in a leafy countryside setting, although it's not much more than 10 minutes' drive from Dublin airport, and around half an hour from the city. It's a 1980s-built two-storey house with 2,745 sq ft of space, including five bedrooms (one en-suite), an interconnected drawing room and dining room with a sliding door to the patio, a study with a stone fireplace, a family room with a stove, a recently fitted kitchen and a sunroom. It is set on one-and-a-quarter acres of grounds.

19 Drynam Square, Drynam Hall

€295k  JLL Residential (01) 673 1600

An Post will tell you Drynam Hall is in Swords, not Kinsealy, although the map suggest it's about equidistant between the two. It's just off Kettles Lane and close to the M1. Number 19 Drynam Square is a detached three-storey house with 1,528 sq ft of accommodation. On the ground floor is a dual-aspect sitting room with a fireplace and doors to the garden, a kitchen, and a guest toilet. There are three bedrooms on the first floor, including the master bedroom with en-suite and walk-in wardrobe, and two on the top floor.
