Auction fever as €3m worth of property set to go under hammer

Next Friday will see about €3m worth of properties auctioned at five separate auctions in Dublin and around the country.

The most valuable of them will be a Georgian country house on a 140-acre farm, three miles from Kilkenny City for which local agent ERA Donohoe Properties is guiding between €1.6m and €1.9m.

Known as Pigeon Park House and located in Danesfort, this Georgian residence extends to 297sqm and its accommodation includes five-bedrooms, a sitting room, dining room, kitchen and downstairs bathroom.

It retains original décor but needs modernisation. A courtyard features outbuildings.

In Co Mayo auctioneers Tuohy O'Toole are guiding around €500,000 to €600,000 for another large period house in Castlebar town.

Lough Lannagh House is a four-bedroom house of 200sqm on 0.65 acres of landscaped gardens close to Castlebar Hospital and the institute of technology.

In Dublin 18 a three bedroom semi-detached house at 19 Cabinteely Avenue has a €275,000 guide price. Property Partners Brady are conducting the executor sale and say the price reflects its need for refurbishment.

In Co Waterford a 12 bedroom property, the Ocean Hotel in the popular holiday village of Dunmore East, will be auctioned by Purcell Properties with a €460,000 guide price.

Also in Waterford a four bedroom parochial house on almost half an acre at Kilmacthomas will be auctioned by Property Partners Spratt who are guiding €160,000.
