2 The Heights

The Heights is a development of Georgian-style three-storey townhouses about half a kilometre from the coast in Malahide. Number 2 The Heights measures 1,884 sq ft spread out over a warren of six levels, no less, including a basement where you'll find one of the four bedrooms. There's a study at entrance level, and the kitchen and dining room are on the first floor. On the second floor is the living room, the master bedroom is on the third floor, and the top floor has the remaining two bedrooms. It's less than 10 minutes' drive from here down to Malahide village and the marina.

1 Oakleigh Court

Oakleigh Court is a small, cul-de-sac development of 10 detached houses built in the 1970s off the Dublin Road in Malahide, just to the north-west of the grounds of Malahide Castle. From Number 1, you can cross the street and be rambling amid the castle's 22 acres of wooded gardens within a couple of minutes. Malahide station is about 15 minutes' walk away. Number 1 has three ground-floor reception rooms as well as an eat-in kitchen and a sunroom, and there's a chalet or log cabin in the grounds if you need a home office. The four bedrooms are upstairs, with one en-suite.

4 Seapark Hill

4 Seapark Hill

To the south of Seapark Hill - an L-shaped cul-de-sac rising off the Coast Road in Malahide - is what's left of the old Malahide golf course, now a tree-studded wilderness. To the north and east is the sea, about 700 metres away in either direction. Number 4 is at the top of the hill, and has a quiet back garden facing west, with a lawn and patio. It's 3,132 sq ft on three floors, with two rooms at attic level, and the first floor has three bedrooms (one en-suite) and an office. On the ground floor there's a living room, dining room and kitchen all interconnected, and a more secluded TV room with a fireplace.

1A Biscayne

€950k  Sherry FitzGerald Blanc, (01) 845 4500

1A Biscayne

The houses at Biscayne in Malahide may be unremarkable from an architectural point of view but they have one feature that makes them the envy of north County Dublin mansion owners, and that's their setting. They're just off the Coast Road, with limitless sea views to the north and east. Number 1A has some of the best views on the estate, as there's nothing in front of it, and there's a balcony off the en-suite master bedroom upstairs from which to make the most of the outlook. There are three other first-floor bedrooms, while the ground floor has a living room, kitchen, family room and conservatory. Out the back is a pretty garden with a pond.
