Close encounters of a Co Meath find

Athlumney Close Navan, Co Meath

Asking price: From €285,000

Agent: REA T & J Gavigan (046) 902 3232

While the supply of new homes in Navan lagged behind Co Meath towns closer to the Dublin border in the first years of the post-recovery era, housing stock in the county town has increased of late.

The most recent addition to the Navan housing landscape is Athlumney Close, which is being built by Andrews Construction on the Kentstown Road, on the east side of Navan. It's close to the Johnstown Shopping Centre.

The first 15 houses were launched last weekend at Athlumney Close, which will consist of 39 homes around landscaped green spaces when it's finished. Prices start at €285,000 for a three-bed semi-detached design with between 1,261 sq ft and 1,283 sq ft of space. The four-bed semi-detached style ranges in size from 1,382 sq ft to 1,435 sq ft and costs from €325,000.

The traditional-style two-storey homes have a mostly brick-fronted facade, with a slate canopy over a grey front door from Ultratech. There is enough space for two cars in the paved front driveway.

Inside, both the three and four-bed designs have an extension to the rear that accommodates a family seating area off the kitchen/diner. French double doors open from this triple-aspect family area onto the patio and back garden. To the front, there is a living room with a bay window and a wall-mounted electric fire with a flame effect.

Buyers have a choice of colours for the fitted kitchen, while the bedrooms come with fitted wardrobes. The A3-rated homes are equipped with an efficient gas boiler for the heating and PV panels to generate electricity.

Athlumney Close is close to the M3 motorway. Dublin city centre is 40km.

Viewings are by appointment.
