Apartments and duplexes the Maine attraction
Dún Sí St Marnock's Bay, Portmarnock, Co Dublin
Asking price: From €355k
Agent: Savills New Homes (01) 618 1300
The mound at Dún Sí, near the estuary at Portmarnock, is said to have been the burial place of Maine, the son of Queen Medb of Connacht and King Ailill. This site served as the inspiration for the name of a Portmarnock development that launched in March at St Marnock's Bay, a scheme that was released in 2017.
While the first tranche at Dún Sí consisted of houses, new show-units opened on June 23 to market apartments and duplexes - the first to be built in Portmarnock in years. There are just seven left for sale. Prices start at €355,000 for a two-bed ground-floor apartment with 899 sq ft of living space.
The three-bed duplexes, which cost from €430,000, are larger than a standard three-bed house: they range in size from 1,471 sq ft to 1,520 sq ft. Appliances are included in both the apartments and the duplexes if contracts are returned within 21 days. There are also two houses for sale in this tranche. One is a three-bed semi-detached house measuring 1,319 sq ft, priced from €530,000, while the other is a 1,453-sq ft, four-bed detached house with a price-tag of €610,000. Dún Sí is just a three-minute walk from Portmarnock Dart Station, with the rail journey to Connolly Station taking about 20 minutes.
Viewings will continue tomorrow, from 11am-1pm.
