Mindful moment… You've made your bed
Making your bed can change your life, according to a book written by ex-Navy Seal Admiral William H. McRaven (actually titled Make Your Bed: Little Things That Can Change Your Life ... And Maybe the World).
He believes that completing that first simple task of the day will give you the motivation to do more throughout the day.
McRaven says that our bed is a reflection of our pride, discipline and personal habits - so if we can't be bothered to look after this simple thing, then what else will we let slide?
Looking at my unmade bed right now, I think there is something in this.
I have been letting a lot of things slide, and it's time to get ship-shape because tiny things can have a big effect on how we feel, particularly how in control we feel.
And so I must go now and straighten the bed and do some laundry. After that - world domination.
