Mindful moment… Don't be afraid of the light ...
There is a quotation that is often attributed to Nelson Mandela but which, in fact, is from the self-help writer Marianne Williamson. It goes: "Our deepest fear is not that we are weak. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God."
Right now I am on the precipice of big, exciting things, and that question, "Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?" is filling my head.
It is scary to step into the light so I am working hard to remember the rest of the quote: "Your playing small does not serve the world ... As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."
