Mindful moment… Soak up your successes
Last week a dream came true: I was offered a publishing deal for the book I've spent most of the last four years working on.
I sat in a small office in London, while clever book editors told me how much they loved what I'd written.
They said that it was funny and wise and warm, and sometimes very sad. The words "pitch perfect" may have been used. And yes, I know I'm bragging but I don't care!
It was one of those dream moments in life, one that I did not think I'd reach. When I told my best friend the news, she cried with relief and happiness. She'd seen how hard I'd worked. "Bathe in this," she said. "Enjoy every single moment."
And so that is what I am doing.
I am bathing in the feeling of success and accomplishment. I'm like a love-sick teenager - gazing dreamily out of windows and walking around my flat with a silly grin on my face.
And I don't care. I'm going to keep bathing until the water gets cold, which might take some time.
