Eamonn Byrne had had back pain for years due to an accident when he was younger, so when the nature of the pain changed seven years ago, he didn’t question the cause, assuming instead it was simply the same source.

I had much more pain in my sacroiliac joint, in my pelvis. And lots of other little niggles that I just didn’t associate with anything other than the back pain I had always had.”
