Clinical trials: ‘The doctor said the cancer in my chest area had melted away’

Mother-of-two Susan Stirrat was offered immunotherapy treatment after undergoing surgery and chemotherapy for stomach cancer to find out it had spread to the lymph nodes. She has had positive results and advocates others to ask their doctor about clinical trials

I was 48 when I started to notice some change. I had lost weight but, like most people, I just thought ‘great, I can wear anything I want’. My husband Paul was going to every takeaway in North Dublin to get different foods to see if I would eat something because I had very little appetite and had been feeling unwell for months. I felt constantly exhausted.
