Weight Loss: Beyonce loses 60 pounds after birth of baby Blue Ivy
New mother Beyoncé shares the secret of her dramatic weightloss with the audience at her US concert, and reveals how she's planning to celebrate.
The speed at which celebrities appear to shift their baby weight is a subject which draws equal parts admiration and bitterness in women who have been there and not quite done that/not even come close.
What with Abbey Clancy tweeting pictures of her perfect postpartum abs at the weekend and declaring she's thinner than before her pregnancy, and supermodel Alessandra Ambrosio planning a return to Victoria's Secret duty a mere eight weeks after having her second child, it's enough to make normal women - and struggling stars such as Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai, under fire for not snapping back into shape after having a baby last November - reach for the biscuit tin.
The latest subscriber to the 'lightening diet' is Beyoncé, who told the audience at her US concert on Saturday night that she has lost a whopping 60 pounds since giving birth to her first child in January.
"Y'all have no idea how hard I worked!" the 30-year-old exclaimed, "I had to lose 60 pounds. They had me on that treadmill. I ate lettuce!"
And not much else we can assume if she really has shifted a stone a month since Blue Ivy's arrival - a claim that's hard to believe if the pictures of Beyoncé's neat physique in her last trimester were anything to go by. It's also worth bearing in mind at this point that this is a woman who performed at Glastonbury looking model-trim in a pair of pants when she was three months gone...
But proving there's still a touch of everywoman lurking beneath the picture-perfect pop sensation, the Single Ladies singer revealed how she was planning to celebrate this milestone: "Tonight I'm gonna get chocolate wasted!". Now you're talking, count us in.
