Roz is an Iron Woman as she smashes gruelling challenge with beau Bressie
The couple that works out together, stays together.
Or in this case, the couple that endures one of the most physically challenging feats of a lifetime, are bound to share a bond.
Ireland's new golden couple, model Roz Purcell and musician Bressie both completed their first Ironman Challenge in Austria over the weekend and were clearly thrilled after completing the gruelling challenge.
"Delighted!!! #IM70.3, 6.09 time! First ever triathalon done &dusted," she wrote on Twitter alongside a photo of herself.
Meanwhile, her other half posted a similarly proud message, saying: "I could not be prouder of @RozannaPurcell . With a bollixed knee and every physio telling her she can't do Ironman 70.3 she nailed it.
"So after one of the toughest but most incredible experiences of my life I finished Ironman 70.3 in 5hrs 57 min."
Rozanna had been training extra hard in recent months and revealed the secrets to her fitness regime earlier this year.
"My top tips for staying in shape while remaining healthy and strong are to lift weights, get plenty of rest, and don't eat less, eat right. I use only whole foods, and I avoid processed goods, aspartame and foods containing words and additives I can't even pronounce. My meals change depending on my training, as some days I have major bike sessions and long runs, so I need to refuel properly."
"I tend to opt for vegan, raw, and gluten-free meals, and snack very consistently throughout the day with protein shakes, seeds and fruit mixes, and sometimes, dark chocolate. I would usually carry homemade granola bars around with me when I'm working, as I get very 'hangry' if I miss a meal.
"I train six days per week, and four of those would be double sessions, including running, swimming, biking and a little core work. My food intake has definitely stepped up, and I'm enjoying my favourite splurges very regularly!"
