Mel B: The hardest part is getting yourself to the gym
Mel B says "getting [herself]" to the gym is the hardest part of her fitness regime.
The former Spice Girl is famed for her super toned figure. Despite her impressively athletic frame, Mel insists she struggles to find motivation at times.
“Of course it’s an effort! The hardest part is getting yourself to the gym,” she said in an interview with UK magazine Star.
“Getting myself to the gym is the hardest part. Once I’m there, I just do it. It’s literally just a case of getting myself there.”
Mel changes up her fitness routine to ensure she doesn’t get bored. The 36-year-old star likes her exercise to reflect her frame of mind.
“It depends. Sometimes I run, sometimes I do weights, sometimes I go take a class, sometimes I’ll take a hike outdoors. I mean, it really depends on what mood I’m in,” she explained.
Mel and husband Stephen Belafonte welcomed baby daughter Madison into the world last September. She is also mother to 12-year-old Phoenix, from her first marriage, and four-year-old Angel from her relationship with ex-boyfriend Eddie Murphy.
Mel understands the pressure new mothers put on themselves to get back into shape following the birth of their baby.
“I don’t know one woman who doesn’t want to be back at the size she was before she was pregnant. Every woman wants to be back at the same size. It’s just a case of dedicating yourself and just trying to be somewhat consistent with trying to work out your eating plan and everything else,” she said.
