Almost 2,000 runners took to Dublin's Phoenix Park on Sunday to compete in the FIT Magazine 5k and 10k runs.
Broadcaster Sile Seoige, singer Brian Kennedy, celebrity chef Clodagh McKenna and radio personality Matt Cooper were among those lining out in sunny weather for the second year of the event.
The race was sponsored by Skechers, and their ambassadors Michele McGrath, MMA fighter Cathal Pendred, former rugby star Shane Byrne and runner Martin Kelly all crossed the finish line in good time.
The 10k winner Sean Hehir took home a grand prize of €800 following his Dublin City Marathon win last October, while prolific runner Gary O'Hanlon came in second. Olympian Catherina McKiernan took home the ladies first prize.
"I love running in the park anyway as I live nearby," she said.
"So it was great to come out today, I love the route. There were a few younger girls ahead of me in the beginning, but I managed to gain on them! It's all about pacing."
FIT Magazine Editor Vicki Notaro was thrilled with the turnout. "The atmosphere was fantastic, thanks in part to the weather and also the sense of camaraderie between the runners. There was a nice competitive edge too though! And lots of people came out with their kids and pets which just added to a lovely morning."
Next up for the FIT City series is an event in Cork on July 13th with a 5k and 10k option around the marina. Early bird entries are available now on www.fitmagazine.ie/events.
