Hollywood’s sexiest celebs share their top 20 secrets to keep in shape and there’s not a starvation diet in sight.

HOW do the A-listers manage to stick to their healthy eating and workout plans all year when most of us have given up our New Year regimes before January is out?

We spoke to some of Hollywood’s sexiest celebs for their stick-to-it secrets and the best bit is there’s no need for faddy starvation diets – it’s all about having a little bit of everything in moderation.

1: Kim Kardashian

“It’s important to work out and be the best version of yourself that you can be, but never feel like you have to be the skinniest girl in the room to be the prettiest. Be confident in yourself and you’ll shine!”

2: Rihanna

“It’s all about trying to eat healthy and be in the gym to feel better. If you look at it that way, and not like you’re trying to lose weight, then it’s more successful.”

3: Drew Barrymore

”I just think you should eat less of everything. A little bit less. I don’t want to live a life where you can’t have what you want; it just makes you want it more.”

4: Jessica Alba

During the day I’ll have some dried fruit, or a chocolate or strawberry frozen yogurt, but I try to steer clear of desserts and bread.”

5: Kim Cattrall

“I own a pair of jeans that fit great and are most comfortable when my weight is just right. When I’m feeling heavy, or I’ve been overindulging, I’ll try on those jeans. If I have to lie down on my back to get the zipper up, I know it’s time to cut back on desserts and bread and step up the cardio.”

6: Reese Witherspoon

”I like to run for about an hour, and I’m big into working out with girlfriends. It’s an acquired skill, being able to discuss your love life, children, and friends – all while you’re running! But we have mastered it.”

7: Scarlett Johansson

“I exercise and eat well. I do it so I can indulge every now and then. I can have half a bottle of wine and not sit around thinking, ‘oh my God, all those calories!’.”

8: Nicole Scherzinger

“Stay active, eat everything in moderation, and stop being so tough on myself.”

9: Gwen Stefani

”These days, I do Pilates, yoga and a lot of walking – now, it’s more about feeling good than looking good. I’m conscious of what I eat, but some days I cave and have cookies. On fun nights with the family, my husband cooks amazing things and there will be carbs.”

10: Cat Deeley

“Yoga, and eating in moderation – I don’t believe those people who claim they eat what they want. If you want to lose weight, you have to eat less and move more. It’s that basic. So, if I fancy some chocolate, I’ll have some – just not the whole bar.”

11: Miranda Kerr

“I eat extremely healthily because when I do, I have more energy. I love spinach, avocado, lots of greens and broccoli. I personally take around four tablespoons of coconut oil per day, either on salads, in my cooking or in cups of green tea.”

12: Renée Zellweger

“I have a simple palate. I love my salmon really crispy on a spinach salad chopped up with onions and tomatoes. It’s my favourite, favourite thing.”

13: Missy Elliot

“At a restaurant, I’ll eat, and when I feel like I’m full, I’ll pour my drink and salt and pepper and hot sauces on my food and smash it all together so I won’t want to eat anymore. I still have my treats. I have to have peanut M&Ms. From time to time, I’ll sneak a fry or two … or three.”

14: Michelle Obama

“I go to the gym three times a week – as often as I can, really. I work with a fabulous trainer for about an hour each session. We do a lot of cardio and weight training. For me, exercise is more than just physical – it’s therapeutic.”

15: Michelle Williams

“Make a plan and set attainable goals.”

16: Mariah Carey

“Water aerobics is actually three times more effective [than other workouts].”

17: Sarah Michelle Gellar

“You can’t live your life by the scale. We don’t even have one in our house. I’ve never believed in them, because your weight fluctuates. It’s more about how my clothing fits than a number. Besides, if you deny yourself everything because you’re so focused on the mirror or the scale, then when do you get to enjoy life?”

18: Vanessa Williams

”I drink a beet-carrot juice in the morning or an applestrawberry- pear juice.”

19: Jennifer Aniston

”I have to have chips [crisps] and salsa every now and then. I love to eat, but I don’t eat crap. I’m pretty much a protein and vegetables girl. I just had a Chinois salad with parsley and mushrooms and salmon. But to me, that’s delicious. I don’t really eat starches – though pizza is sort of my weakness.”

20: Gwyneth Paltrow

”I just cannot diet. I think maybe it’s the idea that you can’t have something ... I just can’t do it. It’s worth it to me to do that extra exercise so I can eat what I want and not think about it.”
