You are one week into the Summer Fit Series, so now is a good time to talk about self-care. I want to clarify from the outset that I’m not talking about face masks and painting your nails, although they too are regarded as self-care (and I love a good face mask).

It’s embedded in many people’s thinking that self-care is a luxury, almost a selfish way to spend your time. “I’m too busy for that”, “It’s grand for some”, “Isn’t it fine for her to be gallivanting off”. The fact is self-care isn’t selfish, it’s necessary for you to perform at your best.
