Laying hands on a freebie, winning an argument and flirting with a stranger are some of the things that brighten a woman’s day new research has revealed.

Digging a fork into a scrumptious slice of cake and dodging a parking ticket rate highly in a list of twenty things that make women happiest on a daily basis.

Hitting the airport for a holiday abroad topped the list for 41pc of woman, who rated it as the thing that got them most excited.

The study conducted by Nature’s Way Alive revealed that 5pc of women got a kick out of flirting with strangers while 18pc revelled in the joy brought on by freebies.

More than 20pc of women rated sex as the thing that made them feel the most alive compared to 45pc of men.

The research also revealed the things that make women most unhappy with 19pc citing financial worries as the most problematic. Listening to other people’s problems was the thing that annoyed 14pc of women.
